I've seemed to have misplaced my ambition

but I've recovered it (rainy weather always helps)
My plans this week are as follows:
* clean up my room, ditch the old ironing board, set up the new one
*sew a few more bags, this time ones with pockets on the inside and maybe one on the outside for decoration
*begin working on a skirt
*start designing some stencils or prints to eventually be put on future works
*pick up my camera and start shooting again (no idea as to what my subjects will be but i'm just going with it)
*draw a picture for my boyfriend as a present.

I think I can get all this in in 6 days. If I can't be outdoors running, I might as well be indoors making things. Hopefully by next Sunday I'll have pictures of this weeks creations to post.

Let the Sewing begin!

so i got my shit together and finally assembled my sewing machine.  and of course within minutes i started my first project.  i'm pretty excited about this first bag.  the straps could have been better, but overall i think it looks awesome. i'm up in the air on whether i want to put it up for sale on my etsy shop or not.  i'm going to sleep on it and see what kind of feedback i get on the other places i've posted for opinions.  i already started my second bag, all i need to do is redo the lining so it fits better into the outer shell of the tote.  i think i'm going to try to do a bag a day. of course i only have enough interfacing for one more bag, but i guess i can manage a trip back to joanns to get more.

i also am starting to get the itch to begin sewing skirts from patterns and material that isn't from old t-shirts (of course those are my personal favorite).  i think over the next week i'm going to re-familiarize myself with how to read the pattern table and such with hope of making a cute summer dress by the end of the month.

all i need is a sewing machine to keep me happy and busy.

I did it! I got my shit together and started my etsy shop with a few knit hats.

i'm hoping this weekend i'll have a few extra bucks to buy some fabric and make a bag or two.  now that its march i don't think anyone will really be looking to buy knit hats. so i've drawn out a bunch of designs and ideas and all i need to do now is buy fabric, interfacing, and maybe one or two other odds and ends. 

i'm hoping by the end of march i'll have at least 5 bags up on my shop. and maybe one new one for myself. 

where oh where is my tax refund? 

i'm putting some of it aside for the sole purpose of fabric buying.

heres how it rolls

things to do this weekend (other than party for my birthday):

*buy sewing needles for my sewing machine

*finish making tags for the rest of the hats i have

*put said hats up for sale on my etsy shop (thus OFFICIALLY opening the shop for business)

*resize skirt 

*draw out designs for future making of bags

*clean

*knit....anything

*buy fabric if money allows

this is going to be a busy weekend but i will force myself to get everything done. and it helps that i have monday and tuesday off too. 

and i can't wait for my tax return checks. it'll be a glorious day.

it takes more than this to make sense of the day

sometimes i amaze myself.  i amaze myself at how involuntarily mean i can be. 

and here it starts. 

i guess technically it won't be a month until the 4th of february. but it doesn't always take exactly a month for a good thing to unravel. 

i didn't mean to say what i said. at least i know i didn't mean for it to be mean. 

i guess i said it because i'm trying hard to understand, but i don't think i've made much progress. 

and its frustrating. 

really frustrating. 

its almost like screaming at a wall. but not screaming. talking. 

my goal for this weekend is to get my sewing station completed and to sew a bag.  and also to knit another hat or two. and also to upload all my pictures onto my computer and get my etsy shop started.  

those are my goals. i bet only 2 things will actually get done.  

where or where has my motivation gone?
